Okay.
I have issue with the current system.
(All examples are Att/Def/Dam 100)
Ay the moment, if you attack someone who's Defence is Equal to your attack You're going to miss - you'd have to roll below 00.
This isn't right - you're meant to be balanced at this point.
The current system only allows up to 50 points difference too - Att150 Vs Def100 is an automatic hit.
While this is alright for some Mechas, as there Is that little difference in stats, for some of the more speciaised builds it doesn't work, if you go beyond this 50 difference your Mecha is either guaranteed to lose (If below) or wasting points (if above).
I'd like to introduce a new system - you have 50% chance to hit someone if your stats are equal, and it raises by 5 for every 10 difference - 45% for Att 90 Def 100 or 60% for Att120, Def100.
This means several things.
1: Easier system for me - less of those horrifically complicated maths, and hitting on fiddly numbers.
2: Generally better balanced - this system means even with a 100 point difference, you've still got a chance to hit, and I can't see stats getting worse than this.
Now, if Damage is done on the same system, everyone start's causing a little less damage and hitting a bit more. Which means EVERYONE should make money from battles, not just the winner. Also that they're more likley to get written up, as it'll be interesting (at the moment we mostly get one-hit-kills or matches like on in the last round where 38 shots were fired, and only 5 of them hit).
I'm posting this here for two reasons - to let you know what's happening (unless anything odd happens, these will come into play after the next round), but also for feedback - It's been suggested that 50% to hit is too high. What do people reckon?
